Uzbek heavyweight boxer Bakhodir Jalolov, who has achieved great success in amateur boxing, has been winning in major competitions for several years. But can you remember when his last defeat was?

Previously, the WSB Super Series team competitions were held by AIBA (now IBA). As part of this tournament, on February 9, 2018, the teams of Uzbekistan and Cuba met in Cuba. At that time, Bakhodir Jalolov lost to Jose Larduet in the 5th round fight with the score of 50-45, 48-47, 48-47. In the end, the Cuban team won 5-0. This defeat is the last for Jalolov.

After that, Jalolov won the gold medal at the Asian Championship in 2019 and 2021, the World Championship in 2019 and 2023, and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In addition, he started professional boxing in 2018 and has fought 12 times so far, defeating his opponents by stoppage.

The amateur world championship held in Tashkent was of special importance for Jalolov. He faced Cuban Alejandro Arzola Lopez in the final. It is noteworthy that the head of state Shavkat Mirziyoev directly watched this battle from the arena.

In the first round, Alejandro Arzola Lopez was unable to continue the fight after being hit by Bakhodir Jalolov. Thus, the war ended in round 1.

Jalolov shared his thoughts after the fight.

- I am proud to be a two-time world champion. It is wonderful that this happened in our country in front of our fans. I felt as if I had won 10 Olympic medals in front of the head of our country.

To be sure, I was very envious when I saw judoka Davlat Bobonov receive a gold medal from the hands of the President. Then I had good intentions that we would be lucky to become world champions in front of our country's president. Thank God, I fulfilled my intention," said Jalalov.

This year also saw a big turn in his professional career. He signed a contract with the world-famous Top Rank promotion company owned by Bob Arum. His next professional fight will be against Nigeria's Onorede Ehwareme on August 26 in Tulsa, USA.
